Frequently Asked Questions

The screening is suitable for all couples who are trying to conceive naturally. If you find that you are having difficulties getting pregnant, you are encouraged to be assessed as a couple to avoid delays to your path to pregnancy. Newlyweds and those with plans to have children are also recommended to go for it.

It is never a straightforward answer to why a woman is unable to conceive or have a healthy pregnancy. For example, mild symptoms in woman like menstrual cramps can be signs of conditions which are affecting a couple’s ability to conceive naturally. Further, the count and quality of a man’s sperm cannot be understood without a lab test. These are examples which encourage a couple to understand any root of cause from a screening to ensure the best approach to a healthy pregnancy.

During the first visit, our fertility specialist will meet both you and your partner to understand both of your health and fertility history and current status. After the consultation, if deemed necessary, the Fertility & Reproductive Screening would be scheduled to assess areas that may affect your chances to conceive naturally. We understand that you may have a list of questions in your mind so we recommend you prepare them to ensure that you do not miss the chance to ask them.

As it is recommended to first consult our fertility specialist to determine if a fertility screening is necessary, there is no specific preparations necessary for you and your partner, except for any questions which both of you may have. Our nurses will share more details about the screening during the visit.

Our medical specialist will go through the test results with you and your partner for you to understand both of your fertility health status. Any specific issues which are diagnosed from the screening will also be shared and explained. Our fertility specialist will also share the various fertility treatment options available and plan the pregnancy journey with you.
